Announcing the OpenBSD presence during What The Hack 2005
---------------------------------------------------------
Thursday 28 July till Sunday 31 July 2005
All info on http://eurobsd.org/2005-WhatTheHack/
Hello,
You might remember us from such mishaps and hangovers like HAL 2001,
(see http://eurobsd.org/hal2001/), FOSDEM and CCC SummerCamp 2003
(see http://eurobsd.org/SummerCamp2003/)... Wel, we are at it again.
BSD users are invading the What The Hack 2005 event and have claimed an
entire field (F) as their little embassy of sanity, lounge and cool beer.
This year we'll have 2 tents, a 200 m^2 one for hacking (tables and couches)
and a 100 m^2 one for sleeping only. There is also a container for
secure storage of equipment.
We'll be providing a roof over the head for any OpenBSD user or developer
interested spending 4 days in a field near Den Bosch.
Our regards go out to the impressive WtH organisation who secured this
great location, with real showers (big deal) and REAL toilets (now that is
a relief compared to the solar heated Dixies...)
If you are interested in attending this event, please register first with
the What the Hack organizers using http://www.whatthehack.org/
Second step is to register your presence in the BSD Village, using the
web form at http://eurobsd.org/2005-WhatTheHack/register.html
For any questions, please contact wim@kd85.com
See you on the campground!
Wim.

Discussion on http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article&sid=20050702092909
If you can't remember what happend at HAL2001 or SummerCamp 2003, see http://eurobsd.org/hal2001/ and http://eurobsd.org/SummerCamp2003/ and
There is a page on the WtH Wiki to add some info about the BSD village, so please use that to scribble down the feedback and plans you have
Question: What does a bed look like?
Answer: They are camping beds. Pure basic.
Question: Will it be dark at night?
Answer: We have lights
Question: I don't like warm beer. What can you offer?
Answer: There will be a fridge. You will have the pleasure of getting your hands on various Belgian brew, so bring your drinking money.

Question: Can I bring my own exotic toys?
Answer: As long as it does not need 3 phase power
Question: Will I look out of place if I'm a total OpenBSD geek?
Answer: Like duh. This is a geek event ;-)
Question: Is it true this year there is a no alcohol policy and strict dress code?
Answer: This year there is a no no alcohol policy. You are free to overdress as you like. There is no lake this year, so be a bit discrete with nudity
Question: Is it true Wim killed somebody two years ago after he got woken up too early in the eh morning(??)?
Answer: No comment!
Unfortunatly, nobody has ever heard again from the photographer of this picture.
To avoid repeats of this happening again, this year we have a SEPERATE tent
for sleeping.
A silence & darkness only policy will be enforced, even if
it means kicking you out of the tent.
And I don't care if you are drunk or that it is raining outside.
Question: Can you host my Linux machines?
Answer: No comment!
